| We are six passengers, Dennis, Teri, Fran, Marci, Steven, and Michelle, with 15 checked bags, seven carryon bags and three very heavy boxes of tracts and Bibles. We have each brought one personal bag to check and one extra bag stuffed with baggies of toys collected by our VBS kids for the children of the Yucátan. The remaining bags are extra luggage (also filled with toys) that put us over the limit. We watch as the airline agent weighs bags and wraps the handles of several of them with bright orange tags that announce our transgression to all in big, bold, letters..."HEAVY". We hold our collective breath as she hands us claim tags for all 15 bags. She smiles. "You're way over your limit and some weight here but I'm not charging you any extra. We will have to charge you coming back." We smile back, our hearts praising God. "It's okay", we say, "We're leaving most of it in México." God is good, as always, and we are over the first "hurdle". |
