Mérida - Fall '01

back next
We arrived in Merida around 10:30 pm. We went through the standard red light/green light security check again. As one moves through customs, you are to push a button on a traffic light-looking device. If you get a green light then you pass without customs looking through your bags. A red light meant your luggage was checked. On the last trip, nearly all who arrived in Cancun received the green light. Here in Merida, it appeared to be one out of two were given the red light.

Todd Brock recalls, "And did they bring a ton of stuff. Really, they brought a little over 2000 pounds of goodies, give-aways, Bibles, stuff, etc. What a haul! We loaded up John's truck and the assorted vehicles that formed our caravan and headed to the luxurious Posada Pensiones Hotel."
