In February, five people went to Mérida to evangelize during Carnaval. Carnaval, what we know in the United States as Mardi Gras, is billed as one of the largest Carnaval festivals in Mexico. We took 35,000 gospel tracts (one half of them were the $1 million dollar tracts from One Million Tracts. At the beginning of the trip, that seemed to be a lot of tracts but it was just a drop in the bucket when compared to the shear number of people that were in attendance. Following are over 380 photos (divided by day) of our trip.

This trip was to scout out a trip to Carnaval de Mérida scheduled for 2009. The Yucatán Today described it as one of the biggest festivals in Mexico. There are five huge parades, with each parade attracting larger and larger crowds. The parade on the last day drew an estimated 500,000 people. After each parade, the people sat and ate and talked. What a great opportunity to witness to hundreds, if not thousands of people. The following video shows some of the scenes from Carnaval de Mérida 2008. Also, Go to some images of Carnaval de Mérida.
